HOW DO I PLAN A SUCCESSFUL TRIATHLON SEASON 2018?

The off-season seems to be in full swing. Our athletes are busy making plans for 2018 and indulge in one or two races just for fun. Keyword “fun”, which comes naturally often with success and both is a key factor in seasonal planning.

WHICH ONES ARE THE RACES YOU ARE ENJOYING ?

I attach great importance to the fact that our athletes choose events which give them pleasure. They are already motivated by the thought of this event. I always start with my athletes in such a way that they choose their favourite races and write them down in categories according to A, B and C races. A-races can, however, be only two to a maximum of three races.

We discuss this planning together and determine an annual training plan on this basis. This means that, depending on the planned races, the rough weekly extent and the rough training contents are determined and planned. In this way, it is possible to determine optimal times for training camps or a holiday with the whole family.

The times for a performance review are already being determined. This takes place 4-6 times a year. 2x a year we create a service profile together. Now you might wonder what exactly the difference is. Well, a performance review determines to what extent the performance has developed, which you can afford for a maximum of one hour. It therefore determines an absolute value. A performance profile, on the other hand, shows in which areas you have strengths or weaknesses. So you can tell which content should be focused in your training.

DETAILED PLANNING

Detailed planning is much more short-term. With us all 7-14 days. In the training schedule for this schedule, based on the above test protocols, your training content for each individual unit is precisely defined and these are adapted to your job and your family situation.

With this short-cycle detailed planning, we ensure that the long-term plan can also be achieved and that we can react to new influences at any time. Who doesn’t know that sometimes a working day lasts longer or the cold has caught you. When that happens, it’s annoying, but no broken leg. With this system, we will quickly get back on track and you will be able to achieve your successes.
